South Korea Reports New FMD Outbreak in Pigs
SOUTH KOREA - Pigs at a farm in central South Korea have tested positive for foot and mouth disease (FMD).

By: The South Korea veterinary authority sent an Immediate Notification dated 5 December to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
According to the report, FMD broke out at a farm in Jincheon-eup in North Chungcheong province (Chungcheongbuk-do) in central South Korea on 3 December.
Of the 15,884 pigs on the farm, 30 have died and 574 have been destroyed.
The source of infection is unknown but an epidemiological survey is currently being implemented. Infected animals will be destroyed.
The last outbreak of FMD in South Korea was in September 2014.
