Brazilian Pork Exports Decreased in January 2015
BRAZIL - Brazilian exports of pork reached in 28,900 tons in January 2015. The result is 19.1 per cent less than the total obtained in January 2014 when they were shipped 35,700 tons.

The largest importer of Brazil pork, Russia, decreased its purchases in January by 8.3 per cent, compared to the same period last year. 10,500 tonnes were sold this year against 11,400 tonnes in 2014.
"The severe winter of Eastern Europe led to decreased shipments via the ports of Russia, which impacted on the result. In this sense, we hope that, as of February, the levels begin to return to expected standards," said the president of the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA), Francisco Turra.
There was also a decrease in sales to Hong Kong by 20.2 per cent and to Angola, down 31.2 per cent.
