Update on Swine Enteric Coronavirus Disease in US
US - The number of pig farm samples that are confirmed positive for porcine epidemic diarrhoea virus (PEDV) in the last week was 26, one premises were confirmed with porcine deltacoronavirus (PDCoV) and one with the dual infection (PEDV and PDCoV).For the most recent week reported – 15 to 22 February 2015 – there were 26 new confirmed positive premises for PEDV and one presumed positive, according to the latest report from USDA APHIS.
For the same period, one premises was confirmed positive for PDCoV but none was presumed positive, and there was also one confirmed dual infection (both PEDV and PDCoV) and none presumed positive.
The total numbers of premises with confirmed positive status for the current week are 910, 38 and 33 for PEDV, PDCoV and the dual infection, respectively.
Since 5 June, for PEDV, there have been 939 confirmed positive premises, 398 presumed positive and 25 previously positive premises that have attained negative status.
For PDCoV, the total for the same period are 44, 26 and five, respectively. For the dual infection, the totals are 33, 27 and one, respectively.

Location of Positive Premises
PEDV
There are currently 34 states with at least one confirmed positive case of PEDV.
For the current week (15 February), there were 125 PEDV-positive laboratory accessions, bringing the total since 5 June 2014 to 3,277. Iowa reported 40 of these new cases, North Carolina 24 and Missouri, 15.
Also reporting positive results in this most recent week were Arizona, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Wisconsin, Wyoming and "unknown".

PDCoV
There are currently 17 states with at least one confirmed positive case of PDCoV.
For the current week (15 February), there were 15 PDCoV-positive laboratory accessions, bringing the total since 5 June 2014 to 331. There were three positive premises in North Carolina, two each in Iowa and Ohio and one each in Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Texas.

Dual infection with PEDV and PDCoV
There are currently 13 states with one or more confirmed positive cases of the dual infection with both PEDV and PDCoV.
Most-affected states with the dual infection are Iowa and Minnesota, each with nine confirmed positive results. APHIS has not updated the table giving the location of the new positive results this week.
