Philippines received 333 Hypor GGPs

Last month, 333 Hypor GGPs went to the Philippines. The animals were shipped via air cargo from France. The shipment had 263 Hypor Large White GGP gilts, nine GGP boars, 52 Hypor Landrace GGP gilts and nine GGP boars.

Brookside Breeding and Genetics Corp. in the Philippines received 333 Hypor GGPs one Saturday night. Dr Sheryll Caguicla, who heads Brookside’s Swine Division, told Asian Agribiz that the animals will stock Brookside’s new and modern nucleus farm in Tarlac Province in Central Luzon. She said the animals will spend about 42 days in quarantine.

Meanwhile, Dr Evaristo Macalino, Area Manager Asia for Hypor, said the new GGPs are meant to produce for the internal requirements of Brookside Farms.

During transit at Hong Kong airport, the animals were kept in a conditioned area to keep them comfortable for the onward journey to Colombo

In Febrary 2015, Hypor successfully exported breeders to the National Livestock Development Board (NLDB) of Sri Lanka. The animals were carefully selected in Canada in order to comply with the local breeding goals set by the NLDB.

The shipment was escorted by DVM Raymond Qu of Hypor’s organisation in China. He looked after the well-being of the animals during transport and supported the transfer from Colombo’s international airport Bandaranayke to the quarantine facilities of the NLDB. The animals arrived in good health and will, after the initial quarantine period, be housed at the farm of NLDB where they will contribute to an improved genetic profile of the swine population in Sri Lanka.

Hypor breeding animals successfully delivered to Taiwan

In December 2014, 130 quality Hypor breeders were delivered successfully to Taiwan. Amongst others Hypor’s partner Nice Garden and one of their customers, Great Wall, were receiving animals from this consignment.

Nice Garden and Great Wall, received the animals in great health. Collaboration between the both companies is doing well. We are pleased to see a growing interest in our dam- and sire lines.

Following the various seminars Hypor held with partner, Nice Garden, in combination with technical support visits conducted by the veterinary and production specialist, Hypor is pleased to see a growing interest in its dam and sire lines.

Again with this delivery a number of Hypor Kanto (Duroc breeders) were included. Hypor Kanto is appreciated by a growing number of customers and consumers alike for its meat quality characteristics such as a higher content of intramuscular fat making it very suitable for high temperature cooking, e.g. barbeque Korean-style.

All the animals arrived in good condition and have left the quarantine facilities in good health to their final destination.
