Over 10,000 Pigs Destroyed in New FMD Outbreak

SOUTH KOREA - Another outbreak of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) has been reported in South Korea.

The new outbreak was reported in the same region as the previous outbreak, Jeollabuk-Do, but further south.

Of the 10,172 pigs susceptible on the farm, there were 80 confirmed cases. However, all 10,172 pigs have been destroyed to prevent the spread of the disease.

The source of the outbreak is unknown.
