The award, created to recognize commitment to the swine industry, was presented to Iowa Select Farms’ swine supervisor Tom Boge for his outstanding and dedicated service.

Denny McKilligan, Innovations Leader, TechMix, says the initiative is designed to honor those who consistently put others first – and there is no doubt that Tom is deserving of the title.

“As well as 21 years’ dedication to Iowa Select Farms, he also makes a valuable contribution in his role as Sgt. 1st Class Thomas Boge in Iowa National Guard’s 34th Infantry “Red Bulls” Division.”

As Tom explained when accepting the award, his roles within military and civilian employment often require a similar approach:

“In both environments, nothing gets done if you don’t have a plan – and yet of course you have to be ready to adjust and change that plan. I am truly grateful to have received this recognition for two such important and rewarding aspects of my life.”

The level of industry admiration for Tom was evident at the event, with chief operations officer of Iowa Select Noel Williams commenting:

“Tom has shown tremendous dedication to his country through his military commitment and his multiple deployments. Tom exemplifies the culture and the core values of Iowa Select Farms and we are lucky to have him as a leader within our company.”
