Timber biomass in agriculture: Modern combustion processes increase efficiency
Farmers who grow wood to burn in their own heating systems achieve a high added value – one hectare of woodland can produce energy equivalent to about 5,000 litres of heating oil year-after-year. In addition, when modern wood/gas cogeneration plants are used, the use of woodchip or pellets becomes even more efficient thanks to the ability to generate electricity and heat at the same time
