Atria will build a new pig fattening farm in Viljandi County, Estonia, as part of the Finnish meat company's TOGETHER 2030 strategy, the company announced.

The investment is valued at approximately EUR 4 million (US$4.5 million), with the project also receiving around EUR 1.5 million (US$1.7 million) in external investment support. The new Alliku farm will house approximately 7,100 animals, with construction planned to begin in the second half of the year.

The company said the facility will improve biosecurity and support the efficiency of Atria Group's integrated food chain.

"With this investment, we are developing our farming in a way that supports responsible, long-term production and Atria's growth," said Meelis Laande, managing director of Atria Estonia.
