China will auction an additional 10,000 tonnes of frozen pork

China plans to auction 10,000 tonnes of frozen pork from state reserves on 30 July.

Reuters reports that the China Merchandise Reserve Management Centre announced the auction on its website on 27 July.

China has already sold more than 400,000 tonnes of pork from reserves this year to tame prices that have soared after the deadly African swine fever decimated the domestic pig herd. The upcoming auction comes shortly after a similar sell-off on 23 July.
