According to a recent report from AHDB, UK ministers appointed Graeme Jack and Glen Nimmo as AHDB Board members. Their terms will run from 1 April and 10 April respectively, each for a period of three years.

Nimmo will have the extended responsibility as Pork Sector Council Chair for three years.

Nimmo brings more than 30 years of experience in the agri-food sector, including as Communications Director for Müller UK & Ireland, while his background includes working in a family-run multi-site integrated pork processing business covering slaughter, primal processing and retail packing.

These are Ministerial appointments, made by Defra Ministers, with the approval of Ministers in the Scottish Government, Welsh Government, and the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs in Northern Ireland.

The appointments are made in accordance with the Governance Code on Public Appointments published by the Cabinet Office. All appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process.

“I am delighted with the appointment of Glen and Graeme whose combined industry experience will add further value to our skill-based Board," said Nicholas Saphir, AHDB Chair. "Their experience as business leaders will help us to continue delivering key services and value for money for our levy payers."
