With substantial growth in both Australia and New Zealand, US April pork exports to Oceania totalled 8,950 mt, up 33% from a year ago, while value increased 36% to $31.1 million, according to data released by USDA and compiled by USMEF.

Through April, exports to the region more than doubled from a year ago in both volume (37,221 mt, up 107%) and value ($132.9 million, up 103%).

Exports to Oceania began regaining momentum in the second quarter of last year, so the market is likely to show smaller year-over-year gains going forward when compared to the strengthening totals posted from April through December 2023.
