Maple Leaf Foods beats Q2 estimates, lifts 2025 outlook
Pork, poultry and prepared foods drive revenue, EPS gainsMaple Leaf Foods reported stronger-than-expected second-quarter results, with revenue rising 8.5% to C$1.36 billion, topping analyst estimates of C$1.33 billion, according to Reuters. Adjusted earnings per share came in at C$0.56, beating the C$0.45 consensus.
The company raised its full-year outlook, now forecasting 2025 adjusted EBITDA between C$680 million and C$700 million, with revenue expected to grow in the mid-single-digit range. Capital expenditures are projected at C$160 million to C$180 million.
Performance was led by gains in the pork segment, where higher hog weights and increased processing boosted sales. Prepared foods benefited from improved pricing, mix and volume, while poultry growth was driven by stronger channel mix and pricing.
Analysts remain bullish on Maple Leaf Foods, with a consensus "buy" rating and a 12-month price target of C$34.00. The stock closed at C$29.46 on August 6.
