China’s Muyuan boosts pig slaughter forecast
Hog giant raises output despite calls to cut supply
China's biggest pig breeder Muyuan Foods has revised its estimate for how many piglets will be slaughtered this year to between 12 million and 14.5 million, up from a range of 8 million to 12 million, Reuters reported, citing a stock exchange filing on Thursday.
Chinese authorities have been calling on the country's leading hog producers to cut output to stabilise prices amid a supply glut.
