Pork exports to Japan edge higher in July - USMEF

Export value slips 3% as frozen shipments increase

July pork exports to Japan were slightly above last year at 26,629 mt, according to data released by USDA and compiled by the US Meat Export Federation (USMEF).

Export value slipped 3% to $105.9 million, as the US supplies more frozen and less chilled pork to Japan. 

January-July shipments to Japan were 9% below last year in volume (188.944 mt) and 11% lower in value ($752.2 million).
