Brazil’s pork exports hit second-highest monthly volume - ABPA
Shipments up 10% in October as Philippines leads demand

By: Brazilian pork exports (including all fresh and processed products) totalled 144,000 tons in October, according to the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA). It was the second-highest monthly volume in the sector’s history, up 10.1% from the 130,900 tons shipped in the same month last year.
Export revenue reached US$343.6 million in October, also the second-highest monthly result on record, and 9.7% higher than the US$313.3 million reported a year earlier.
From January to October, pork exports totalled 1.266 million tons, an increase of 12.9% compared with 1.121 million tons in the same period last year.
Revenue for the first ten months of the year reached US$3.046 billion, up 22.7% from US$2.482 billion in the same period of 2024. The total has already surpassed all export revenue generated in 2024 (US$3.033 billion), making 2025 a record year for the sector.
The Philippines remained the main destination, importing 46,300 tons in October, up 21% year-on-year. Japan followed with 10,700 tons (+5.9%), then Mexico with 10,050 tons (+27.1%), China with 10,030 tons (-47.6%), Hong Kong with 8,400 tons (-1.3%), Chile with 7,800 tons (-17.8%), Vietnam with 7,000 tons (+21.4%), Singapore with 5,400 tons (+19.6%), Ivory Coast with 4,100 tons (+266.7%) and Uruguay with 4,000 tons (+10.8%).
“We have seen strong growth in the reach of pork exports, with major global markets gaining more importance among Brazil’s destinations, such as Japan and Mexico. The results so far support the sector’s growth outlook for 2025, with positive prospects extending into next year,” said ABPA president Ricardo Santin.
Santa Catarina remained the leading exporting state, shipping 69,000 tons in October (+0.6%), followed by Rio Grande do Sul with 36,500 tons (+32%), Paraná with 22,200 tons (+7.6%), Minas Gerais with 3,700 tons (+13.9%) and Mato Grosso with 3,500 tons (+14.2%).
