US pork exports to Canada surge 71% in April from last year's low

Four-month shipments up 12% to 65,306 metric tons

US pork exports to Canada surged 71% in April compared with last year's low volumes, reaching 14,199 metric tons valued at $56.1 million, up 65% in value, according to the US Meat Export Federation.

Through the first four months of the year, shipments to Canada were up 12% from a year ago to 65,306 mt, while value increased 10% to $258.5 million.
