PCV2 Vaccine in ample supply
US - One of the swine industry's biggest disease challenges in recent years has been the emergence of PMWS and PCV Associated diseases.
Reassuring producers, Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc., has said that its inventory of Ingelvac CircoFLEX vaccine has been boosted to meet the needs of swine producers and veterinarians in fighting porcine circovirus type 2.
Porcine circovirus associated disease, a devastating disease complex caused by PCV2, has spread rapidly in the last decade to become the top swine health challenge of many North American swine producers.
Until now, vaccine choices and supply have been limited in helping producers effectively manage this disease.
Klaas Okkinga, marketing manager for BIVI, says the company has aggressively ramped up production of the vaccine since it received USDA approval late last year.
"The entire swine health industry has been working hard to bring safe, effective solutions to the market as quickly as possible," Okkinga said.
