Cranswick Workers on Strike

UK - Staff at Cranswick's pig meat processing plant in Hull are striking over claims that the company is cutting their wages by up to 20 per cent.

According to a report on the Hull Daily Mail's This is Hull and East Riding, the meat plant staff are striking for two days out of the five working days

. The report says the company has cancelled their contracts and is asking them to reapply under what the union claims are less fevourable conditions.

Part of the change in conditions is a cut in pay.

The strike involves 78 GMB union members at the plant.
