Classical Swine Fever Confirmed in Columbia
COLUMBIA - There has been four new cases of classical swine fever reported and confirmed in the Magdalena region of Columbia.

By: The affected population was comprised of backyard swine which were in close contact with other animals. There was no vaccination records for this farm.
As a result of the outbreak four pigs died.
The source of the outbreak is thought to be a combination of the introduction of new live animals, the illegal movement of animals, contact with infected animals when grazing,swill feeding and formites such as humans, vehicles, feed etc.
