Live swine prices delivered to processors averaged BRL 8.56 per kilogram in the SP-5 region in 2025, up 6.5% from 2024 and the highest annual average since 2020 in real terms, according to Cepea. The SP-5 region includes Bragança Paulista, Campinas, Piracicaba, São Paulo and Sorocaba.

Prices peaked at BRL 9.25 per kilogram in September in the region. Cepea said firm domestic demand, reduced slaughter volumes and strong export activity supported quotations throughout the year.

In Paraná, live swine prices averaged BRL 8.68 per kilogram in February, up 10% in real terms from January. Prices stabilized between March and July as supply and demand aligned. From August onward, a renewed slowdown in slaughters tightened availability, leading to price increases amid firm domestic and international demand.
