Registration is open for 2025 ISU McKean Swine Disease Conference
Conference to be held June 24-25 in Ames, Iowa, USAWe are eager to host the expanded 2025 Iowa State University McKean Swine Disease Conference with the addition of two pre-conference workshops on Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae eradication and PRRS management. For those who registered for the main conference, there is no additional cost to attend the pre-conference workshops, thanks to the generosity of the respective sponsors.
Both workshops will take place on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at the ISU College of Veterinary Medicine campus, followed by the main conference scheduled for Wednesday, June 25, at the Gateway Hotel and Conference Center in Ames, IA.
This conference is once again planned in conjunction with Iowa Swine Day, which will be held on Thursday June 26, 2025. Although the events are separate, this provides the opportunity to feature two extraordinary conferences here in Ames.

The International Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae Eradication Workshop will be held on Tuesday, June 24th, from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the ISU CVM campus, co-sponsored by Zoetis and the field epi group.
The International PRRS Management Workshop, sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health, will follow from 12:30-5:30 PM, with a social dinner at the conclusion of the preconference.
Both pre-conferences will host global leaders in the swine industry who will share their experiences with the control and elimination of these pathogens in commercial settings. Presentations will also highlight new research in these areas, as well as currently available tools for the industry to utilize in disease control and elimination.
This year's main conference will highlight both international and national industry leaders, providing insights on sustainable veterinary medicine, the current economic state of the industry, and PRRS reduction strategies in Europe, in addition to providing an update on the US SHIP program. Two concurrent tracks will follow in the afternoon focused on key learnings in E. coli virulence, PRRSV diversity in LVI materials, sow mortality, ground water pathogens, H5N1, and the national swine health strategy.
There are also several practitioner-led cases relating to the use of technology for biosecurity controls, enterprise-level diagnostics, K88 E. coli, JEV, PCV3, and control strategies for emerging health challenges in Spain. Conference attendees are welcome to attend the ISU Swine Networking Social hosted by Iowa Swine Day following the main conference on June 25th at the Hansen Agriculture Student Learning Center in Ames, IA.
