Another Classical Swine Fever Case in Latvian Wild Boar

LATVIA - Sub-clinical classical swine fever (CSF) has been detected in a dead wild boar in south-eastern Latvia.

The veterinary authority sent Follow Up Report No.24 dated 20 January to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).

According to the report, one dead wild boar in Robeznieki parish which is in Kraslava county tested positive for the virus on 16 January.

The wild boar was hunted in the already defined classical swine fever infected area, according to the EC Decision 2013/90/EU.

Since May 2013, 6,000 wild boar have been given an oral vaccination against the CSF virus is on-going in a CSF infected area.
