Use of Antimicrobial Agents and Occurrence of Antimicrobial Resistance in Bacteria from Food Animals, Foods and Humans in Denmark
According to the latest report, DANMAP 2009, there was a 10 per cent increase in the consumption of antibiotics by Danish farm animals between 2008 and 2009, with most of the increase accounted for by a the pig industry and more antimicrobial agents commonly used for mass medication in feed or drinking water in herds with disease problems.
